Was completely surprised by this find. Traveling through I wanted to find a great tenderloin sandwich. Not only was it great but probably the largest one ever. The bun also fit the tenderloin instead of being tiny and useless. Service was great. The place was super clean and decor was nice. Not over cluttered and gaudy like some cafes. Great food selection but not overwhelming. Took home some homemade black raspberry cobbler that was on point. A great place to stop when traveling through New Castle.

This little dive was a great little surprise. We were driving through and decide to grab some dinner. The Park Restaurant is one of the only non-chain places that showed up on a quick google search so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is definitely a dive...it's been here for a while. In fact, the coffee mug up at the register proudly proclaims it's the "Historic Park Restaurant". There were just a few staff but they were working hard, very welcoming and friendly. We live our pan fried chicken in Indiana so I ordered their special with two pieces (dark), tater tots and pineapple salad. The chicken was good. Not nearly enough pepper for me but it had a great crispy outside and perfectly cooked inside. The pineapple salad was awesome. Some people call this dish "heavenly hash". This version was pineapple, whipped cream, and marshmallows. The waitress said it had some vanilla pudding added but I'm thinking no...seemed like a pretty traditional Heavenly Hash minus the mandarin oranges. Anyway...It was fantastic. My cousin had the small tenderloin. She gave it a thumbs up so it had to be pretty good too. Overall, if you're looking for some home style cooking / diner dive, then give this place a try. I wish we had not been so full after dinner because their home made pies did look really good...next time!

Tony and I were daytripping in Indiana yesterday visiting covered bridges, canals and cornfields....lol!!! Lots of cornfields in Indiana!!
At lunch time we were in Rushville and decided to try out Park Restaurant.
We were greetedand seated immediately. The interior is normal, nothing fancy or retro. The waitress was nice, brought our menu and took our drink order. We both went with sweet tea with lemon...
After checking out the menu, which is very budget friendly, we opted to split a couple sandwiches and share the fries.
Tony chose the rib eye sandwich with a side of sauted mushrooms. I went with the Tenderloin Sandwich and fries. We split both and enjoyed them both. But the Tenderloin was the best!!!
Definitely would go back again. It cost only $23 with taxes and tip...and that was a 22% tip.!!!! -

From out of town - sign out front hiring cook always scares me however the lunch was good and service was excellent - had the meatloaf special - more than I could eat - minus one star for $2.25 for a fountain drink - in my opinion ridiculous high for a Pepsi

Staff was great and fast, the portions were not as big as I expected and the burgers were cooked to death.
